Our mission is to provide our guests with comfortable accommodations within a pristine natural habitat. Our rooms and facilities ensure that you can experience island life without sacrificing luxury.
Rooms higher on the hillside are constructed of local mahogany and include a balcony facing westward to the bay. Rooms lower on the hillside are closer to the ocean and include a spacious patio facing the sea as well. All rooms include private baths with hot water. Air conditioners and televisions are unavailable at PBR. We enjoy the natural breeze and the visual pleasure from the surrounding nature. Wi-fi is available in common areas of the resort.
The Cayos Cochinos archipeligo is a group of two small islands and thirteen coral cays situated 30km north east of La Ceiba, Honduras.
The Islands form part of the worlds 2nd largest Barrier Reef system, known as the Meso-American, and has been identified by the Smithsonian Institute, The Nature Conservancy, the World Wildlife Fund and the World Bank as one of the key sections of the Barrier Reef system to preserve.
Since 1994 Cayos Cochinos has been designated a Marine Protected Area and in 2003, it was declared a Marine Natural Monument by the Honduras Coral Reef Fund (HCRF), administering conservation of the area.

To help you with your travels, our staff are always available to offer advice for getting to the resort. Our representatives are all experienced in traveling around Central America, especially through Honduras. With our help and advice, your travel arrangements can be made quick and simple.
The easiest way to get to the resort is to fly to San Pedro Sula via one of the major American cities. From there you can take a bus, plane or private van to La Ceiba.
Once you arrive in La Ceiba, there is a short boat transfer to the islands. The transfer is completed in a standard launch, lasting from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.
With the increased attention from airlines on weight allowance, packing lighter is most certainly the way to go. Coming to our island paradise does not require much, dress is very casual. Most people prefer to wear shorts and t-shirts through out the day. In the evening, long pants and a long sleeved top may be necessary to avoid the small amount of bugs we have here.
Ensuring that you bring Sun Block is essential. We suggest Cactus Juice as it is Reef friendly and combines protection from the sun and repellent. A hat is advisable. Don't forget bathing suits and a beach towel.
Bring all dive gear with the exception of tank and lead. If you plan to night dive, bring multiple dive lights. Lastly, the electricity is U.S. style, 110 volt, with standard plug socket.
Sarah and Mike decided to leave the Canadian winter behind and join us in Cayos this December. I think they are pretty happy with their decision.
